Unknown machine guns

I have no idea what these are, but they sure aren't Type 97s. The Japanese never had any fighter with six machine guns in the wings, the movie must have used some American airplane type. Internet Movie Plane Database says the Japanese were flying T-6/SNJ Texans, which only ever mounted a single AN/M2 .30cal in the right wing and another in the cowling. So are they mockups/acetylene gas guns? And which lazy propmaster failed to realize that the Japanese never had a six-MG fighter?
