Isn't it incorrect to feature on this page? The Rasheed is a derivative of the Ljungman AG-42 and Hakim designs; it only resembles the SKS externally. | Isn't it incorrect to feature on this page? : Well, we have weapons that only match in external aesthetic listed on the same page as others - The CETME Ameli on the MG42/MG3 page comes to mind, but to be fair that one externally looks ''exactly'' like a scaled down MG, so that's probably more the exception. I do think it's more common that there are separate pages for some variations even if they share design and appearance characteristics - But of course not always. Bah, I'll leave this one to actual decision-makers here. [[User:StanTheMan|StanTheMan]] ([[User talk:StanTheMan|talk]]) 14:28, 22 April 2016 (EDT) |

Was the SKS ever made in 7.62x54R?
- WHY!?!?!?!? The SKS was built BECAUSE the Red Army needed a rifle to field the new intermediate round. Why on earth would they make their brand new design to FIRE the caliber they're trying to replace (as a main battle cartridge). MoviePropMaster2008
- I'm pretty sure it wasn't. If you're looking for a Soviet automatic rifle in 7.62x54R, then wouldn't that be the SVT-40? --funkychinaman 18:49, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Only ever made in 7.62 x 39mm. There was a Simonov-designed rifle in 7.62 x 54mm called the AVS-36, but it was very different from the SKS. - Nyles
