Frontier (original title Aerograd ("Air City")) is a Soviet 1935 B&W drama, directed by Aleksandr Dovzhenko. "Aerograd" is the name of a new Soviet outpost on Pacific coast near the mouth of Amur river. Japanese saboteurs try to raise rebellion of local religious sect, but a group of former Red Army soldiers, now peasants and hunters, stop these activities.
The following weapons were used in the film Frontier (Aerograd):
Handguns
Nagant M1895
Vladimir Glushak (Sergei Stolyarov), a pilot, carries a Nagant M1895 revolver as his service sidearm.
Mauser C96
Old hunter Stepan Glushak (Stepan Shagaida) carries a Mauser C96 pistol in addition to his Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifle.
Rifles
Mosin Nagant M1891/30
Several hunters, including Stepan Glushak (Stepan Shagaida) and Vasili Khudiakov (Stepan Shkurat), use Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifles. These rifles have unhooded front sights, so they are supposed to be converted original M1891 Dragoon rifles.
Arisaka Type 38
Arisaka Type 38 rifles are widely used by Japanese agents and Russian sectants, including their leader Aniky Shabanov (Boris Dobronravov).
Winchester Model 1895
Several hunters use Winchester Model 1895 rifles.
Vetterli Rifle
One of the sectants carries what appears to be a Vetterli Rifle.
Winchester Model 1892
A native hunter carries what appears to be some Winchester rifle with tube magazine, most likely a Winchester Model 1892.
Shotguns
Berdanka Bolt Action Shotgun
In one scene Aniky Shabanov (Boris Dobronravov) holds a hunting gun that is possibly a converted Berdan Rifle (so-called berdanka).
