:I think one of the reasons that this happens is that the manufacturers of these coppies actively put out disinformation about them. Here is what Pietta has to say about their Model 1851 Confederate Navy: "Although designated as a Navy revolver, the Model 1851 saw heavy use among Army officers who favored .44-caliber firepower. brass-framed revolvers

Both the Remington New Army and Colt 1851 Navy photos show brass framed examples(I can't really tell if the frame of the Colt 1860 Army is of brass or just worn...). There were no brass framed CSA copies of the Remington. While there were some brass framed "Colt" Navies, such as the Griswold and Gunnison, they were rare and real Colts were much more likely to be used, as were imported Kerr and Lefaucheux revolvers. The gun companies do make proper copies of CS made guns nowadays, so if the filmmakers insist on using confedearate made guns they can get a good copy, rather than use "fantasy" guns. This is a pet peeve when it comes to CW movies.--Tecolote (talk) 19:15, 29 February 2016 (EST)--Tecolote (talk) 19:15, 29 February 2016 (EST)

I think one of the reasons that this happens is that the manufacturers of these copies actively put out disinformation about them. Here is what Pietta has to say about their Model 1851 Confederate Navy: "Although designated as a Navy revolver, the Model 1851 saw heavy use among Army officers who favoured .44-caliber firepower. It was constructed of brass because of the South's limited supply of steel." Not only are they making up the bollocks brass frame version of the 1851, but they are also trying the justify them re-chambering it in .44. --commando552 (talk) 20:58, 29 February 2016 (EST)
