Nash Bridges ([[Don Johnson]]) uses a two tone 1911A1 throughout the series.

The gun was designed by Jim Zubenia, and built at Mac's .45 Shop.
In one episode Nash says it is a Colt .38
It features a Colt slide with Bomar sights, with a BarSto barrel.  The frame is a Springfield, which has been hard chromed.
 
It also has a Smith and Alexander flat mainspring with magazine well, extended slide catch, and ambi-safety.
This looks like a Colt Combat Elite with a shorter barrel, improved sights, and a muzzle brake.
It was used through all six seasons of the show.
