Can the new Russian 9mm 7N31 +P+ armor-piercing round be fired our of any 9mm hand gun or only The PP-2000? also are teflon coated bullets effect on body armor?
- No, obviously only from weapon designed for high pressure ammunition.
Ok that makes sense, so only Russian guns that are built for the round can fire the round with our bracking the gun. and there go's that idea. Rex095
- No, not only Russian.
How did the Russians do it?
I'm amazed that the 9x19mm cartridge could be pushed to PDW penetration levels. I thought that if such a thing was indeed possible, the FBI would have done so in their quest for a new service cartridge that resulted in the .40 S&W. I remember reading a report from the FBI that claimed the 9x19mm cartridge was "tapped out" and "nothing further could be done with it," but this new loading for the PP-2000 certainly proved that wrong.
Would it be possible to modify, say, an M9 pistol with this ammunition to turn it into an ersatz PDW pistol? Would the larger bullet diameter mean it would have more stopping power than the other two major PDW calibers, 5.7x28mm and 4.6x30mm? --Mazryonh 04:09, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
It'd probably destroy the M9 like the higher pressure 9mm round the military USED to have did. It might work in something like a Glock though-S&Wshooter 21:07, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
