Work In Progress
This article is still under construction. It may contain factual errors. See Talk:Chappie for current discussions. Content is subject to change.
Chappie is a 2015 science fiction film directed by Neill Blomkamp (Elysium and District 9) that revolves around a law enforcement robot who starts to learn about human emotions after being captured by criminals. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Sigourney Weaver and Sharlto Copley provides the motion capture (and voice) for "Chappie".
The following weapons were used in the film Chappie:
Vincent Moore (Hugh Jackman) is seen carrying what appears to be a Glock 17 as his primary firearm. At one point, the Glock is fitted with an extended magazine. The weapon starts out with an OD Green frame, but later switches to a standard black frame. Amerika (Jose Pablo Cantillo) also carries a standard Glock as his sidearm throughout the film.
Vektor SP1 Sport
Ninja's (Ninja Visser) main sidearm is a Vektor SP1 Sport fitted with a red dot sight. Chappie also handles the weapon during a few scenes.
Vektor SP1
Hippo (Brandon Auret) uses a two-tone Vektor SP1 during the climax.
Varan PMX-90
Hippo (Brandon Auret) uses two Varan PMX-90s as his main sidearms. One has a stainless slide and the other a stainless frame with a standard slide and grips, making it reverse two-tone.
Yolandi is seen grabbing a Micro Uzi painted blue, while gearing up for the heist, and is briefly seen firing it alongside the Armscor BXP.
MAT-49
One of Hippo's (Brandon Auret) men is seen with a MAT-49. Another is seen held by one of the King's (Eugene Khumbanyiwa) bodyguards.
PPSh-41
One of Hippo's (Brandon Auret) men wields a PPSh-41 during the opening firefight.
Rifles
Vektor R5
The main weapon carried by the law enforcement robots is the Vektor R5 carbine. One of Moore's operatives is armed with a Vektor rifle in a tactical configuration with UTG quad rail mounts and CAA railed handguards. The rifle appears very similar to ones used in Strike Back - Season 3.
Vektor R5 (Modified to resemble Modern AK-Series Rifle)
One of Moore's operatives is seen armed with what appears to be a Vektor R5 rifle, modified to resemble the AKS-74.
M4A1 Carbine
Ninja uses an M4A1 Carbine throughout the film. It is customised with a suppressor, red dot sight, laser designator, and flashlight, all painted school bus yellow with pink magazines.
Custom AK
Hippo (Brandon Auret) arms himself with a custom gold-plated AK shorty rifle. This appears to be the same custom-made AK seen in Lord of War.
AKMS
Several characters in the film use AKMS rifles, most notably Amerika (Jose Pablo Cantillo).
