With Clean Hands (Cu mâinile curate) is a 1972 Romanian crime movie directed by Sergiu Nicolaescu and starring himself as Police Commissioner Tudor Miclovan. The story takes place in Romania immediatly after the World War II. Experienced Tudor Miclovan and newcomer in police Mihai Roman (Ilarion Ciobanu) work together against criminals, sharing the goal but using different methods: Roman is a proponent of "acting with clean hands" while Miclovan prefers a street justice.
Sergiu Nicolaescu's character, Tudor Miclovan, appears first time in this movie. Later the basically same character, but named Tudor Moldavan, appears in several movies (The Duel, A Police Commissioner Accuses, Revenge) that takes place in 1939-1941.
The following weapons were used in the film With Clean Hands (Cu mainile curate):
The personal weapon of Commissioner Tudor Miclovan (Sergiu Nicolaescu) is a Smith & Wesson Victory Model revolver. In the final scene Chief Commissioner Mihai Roman (Ilarion Ciobanu) holds Miclovan's revolver. Same revolvers are also seen in hands of Romanian police.
Nagant M1895 Revolver
Russian Nagant M1895 revolvers are used both by criminals and police.
An FN Model 1905 (or one of its numerous Spanish copies) is seen in the scene when Tudor Miclovan arrests a criminal Pascu (Mircea Pascu), Buciurligă's henchman.
Submachine Guns
PPSh-41
PPSh-41 submachine guns with stick magazines are seen in hands of various criminals, including Buciurligă (Stefan Mihailescu-Braila).
MP40
MP40 submachine guns are used by various criminals. Some of them can actually be MP38s but none of them is seen clear enough do be identified for sure.
Machine Guns
Degtyaryov DT
A Degtyaryov DT machine gun is mounted in a armored vehicle that appeares in the scene of bank robbery. The vehicle is called "a German tank" in the movie but actually this is Czechoslovakian armoured recovery vehicle VT-34, based on T-34 chassis.
