eXistenZ is a 1999 Canadian-British-French science fiction thriller directed by David Cronenberg and starring Jennifer Jason Leigh as Allegra Gellar and Jude Law as Ted Pikul, a game designer and a security guard who find themselves trapped in an elaborate virtual reality video game called "eXistenZ". The film is considered a spiritual sequel to Videodrome as it deals with many of the same themes, but uses video games and virtual reality as a backdrop instead of Videodrome's VHS tapes and analog cable.
