Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) carries a Smith & Wesson 645 as his primary weapon during the third and fourth seasons of the show. At the time, it was from Smith & Wesson's brand new line of second generation handguns, as the producers wanted to keep up Crockett carrying a State of the Art pistol.
Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) carries a Detonics Combatmaster as a backup gun, in an ankle holster. In reality the Detonics would have been a substantial handgun to carry in an ankle holster.
Det. Stan Switek (Michael Talbott) carries a nickel Browning Hi-Power with target sights as his sidearm throughout the season. In a continuity error the M1911A1 used by Arzola (Timmy Cappello) in "Theresa" switches to a Hi-Power after the short chase.
The Undercover cop in the beginning of "El Viejo" uses a Smith & Wesson 659 before being gunned down. One of Montoya's bodyguards also uses an S&W 659 in "Knock, Knock, Who's There?". An S&W 659 is also used by Don Gallego (Paul Calderon) in "Everybody's in Show Biz".
An SRT member is seen carrying a Smith & Wesson 639 in a shoulder holster. Although this is the only time we can clearly see an SRT member's sidearm, we can assume that this is the standard sidearm for SRT members.
A 6-inch barrel version of the Colt Trooper MK V fitted with pachmayr grips is used by Lt. Castillo (Edward James Olmos) in most episodes. If it was a Python it would have a full lug running under the barrel. The Mk V had the ventilated top barrel rib and the half lug for the ejector rod. St. Gerard Police Officer Reuben Oliva (John Verea) carries one with a 4 Inch barrel as his duty sidearm which is taken by Leon Wolfe (Vincent D'Onofrio) and given to Orlando Calderone (John Leguizamo).
Max Klizer (Walter Gotell) has a Custom Colt M1911A1 Series 80 in his office in "When Irish Eyes are Crying". The gun, custom made by gunsmith Richard Heinie, appears to have a stainless steel finish, the Heinie design fixed rear sight, an extended ambidextrous safety, a combat hammer, and a compensated longslide.
Howard Famiglia (Tommy Koenig) is seen with a chrome Desert Eagle in a holster at the beginning of "Baby Blues". Reb Gustafson (Reb Brown) uses one throughout the "Viking Bikers from Hell" episode.
A Glock 17 is carried by a Cuban rebel in "Cuba Libre" (S3E14). Crockett takes it off him and uses it through the rest of the episode as he was forced to give up his Smith & Wesson 645 earlier in the episode. This episode first aired in the US on January 23, 1987, making it one of the very first film or television series to feature a Glock pistol in media.
Esteban Montoya (Ian McShane) uses a Taurus PT92C in "Knock, Knock, Who's There?". (Trivia: Ian McShane would later play General Manuel Borbon in the series finale "Freefall")
Senor Espinoza uses a Walther PPK/S when he hears someone break into his home in "Duty and Honor". Alexander Dykstra (Yorgo Voyagis) also uses a PPK/S with a suppressor in "Lend Me an Ear".
One of Colonel Maynard's (G. Gordon Liddy) assassins uses a nickel Heckler & Koch P7M13 in "Stone's War". Another assassin later in the episode uses a blued P7M13.
Several characters also use the stainless steel Smith & Wesson Model 649. US Customs agent Frank Arriola (Carlos Cestero) uses it as his backup weapon. Lt. Ray Gilmore (Jack Thibeau) carries it in "Shadows of the Dark". It is also used by Clarence Batisse (Victor Love) at the end of "Better Living Through Chemistry".
Texas Ranger Jake Pierson (Willie Nelson) carries with him two 1936 Colt Single Action Armys in "El Viejo" (Crockett specifically says it's a 1936 model). He sells one of them to a pawn shop for extra cash. In the episode it is referred to as a Colt Peacemaker, a common name for Colt SAAs.

Wilson Combat has been given permission by Smith & Wesson to modify the M-3000 and sell those modified versions. Wilson cuts off the barrel to 7.9 inches (and other barrel lengths are available at customer request), shortens the action bars and magazine tube, moves the barrel mount back, and adds a forward handgrip on the pump slide which can also be folded flush with the rest of the pump slide if desired. The resulting weapon, called the Executive Protection Shotgun, uses synthetic Pachmayr Vindicator furniture and has no buttstock. Despite the short barrel, the shot spread is not extreme due to the tight choke used on the barrel; however, muzzle blast and noise are extreme. Of course, the Executive Protection Shotgun requires a lot of taxes and red tape to legally acquire, and is therefore used only by certain bodyguards and military and government concerns. Arzola (Timmy Cappello) uses a MAC-10 to kill a guard in "Theresa". Leon Wolf (Vincent D'Onofrio), Xavier Calderone (Antone Pagona), and Orlando Calderone (John Leguizamo) all use MAC-10s with custom flash hider when they attempt to kill Tubbs in "The Afternoon Plane". At one point in the episode, Alicia Austin (Maria McDonald) takes one and holds it one Orlando. One of the MAC-10's with custom flash hider and stock was used in the film RoboCop. Alexander Dykstra (Yorgo Voyagis) uses a MAC-10 at the end of "Lend Me an Ear". Several MAC-10s are also used in "Everybody's in Show Biz".
Several Nicaraguan soldiers use Norinco Type 56-1 rifles in "Stone's War", trying to pass them off as AKMSs. It is identified as a Norinco by the front sight, which is the .75" style, instead of the .5" of the AKM/AKMS.
An SRT member uses a converted Colt Sporter II Rifle with a barrel cut down to 10" flush with the front sight and a standard A1 Flash hider, during the climax of "Cuba Libre". The generic term for such a converted carbine is the CAR-15 SMG, though there are variants which have 11.5", 10.5" and 10" barrels.
Two of the Cuban rebels are seen using IMI Galil SARs in "Cuba Libre". Several SRT members also use Galil SARs in "Viking Bikers from Hell". The Galil SARs used in this season are the 7.62mm versions. Hence the straight magazines.
Lt. Castillo (Edward James Olmos) uses a Colt Model 733 during the climax of "When Irish Eyes are Crying". Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas) and a US soldier uses them in "Baby Blues" (the soldier's is equipped with an M203 grenade launcher). Several Cuban rebels use them in "Cuba Libre". A DEA agent is seen with one in "Knock, Knock, Who's There?". Two bikers use one (fitted with a M203 grenade launcher) in "Viking Bikers from Hell".
One of the Nicaraguan soldiers is armed with a Bushmaster XM 15 "V-Match" mocked up to look like an M16A1 in "Stone's War". It is identified as a Bushmaster by its long, smooth handguard.
An FIM-43 Redeye is also used by IRA arms dealer Eddie Kaye (Jeff Fahey) in "When Irish Eyes are Crying", notably using one to destroy Crockett's beloved Ferrari Daytona Spyder. The standard sighting unit has been removed and replaced with a different cosmetic sight.
A Browning M1919 is seen in front of the arms dealers when meeting with Crockett and Tubbs in "When Irish Eyes are Crying". Two Cuban rebels are seen carrying one in "Cuba Libre".
An M2 Mortar is seen when Crockett and Tubbs meet with the arms dealers in "When Irish Eyes are Crying". Nicaraguan soldiers also use them in "Stone's War".

Despite the Daytona Spyder being blow up in "When Irish Eyes Are Crying" episode 1 of season 3. The reason for this is "El Viejo" was the original premiere episode of the season 3. But the producer felt "When Irish Eyes Are Crying" made for a better opening for season 3.
