John Russell carries a conversion of a Colt model 1860 Army made to shoot metallic cartridges, although it could also be a Colt model 1871-72 Open Top Model (note the extractor) (a similar gun can be seen in The Outlaw Josey Wales
Remington model 1858
Clint Eastwood uses this “cap and ball” revolver. He carries pre-loaded cylinders in belt pouches, just like modern speedloaders. Note, however, that the cylinders are loaded with metallic cartridges: in many films the classic cap and ball revolvers are modified to use blanks, which are safer and more convenient.
