The [[Browning M2#Browning M2 Heavy Barrel|Browning M2HB heavy machine gun]] is mounted on most U.S. Army & Marine Corps land vehicles including the M1A1 & M1A2 Abrams and the Humvee, the USMC Humvee having a gun shield mounted in front of the M2HB to protect the gunner from enemy small-arms fire (some Humvees replace the manually-fired M2HB with a CROWS remote mounting). The M2HB also ejects the shells towards the right instead of downwards from the bottom of the gun. The M2HB equips several other vehicles, including the Merkerva Mk IV tank and M113 & Namer Armored Personnel Carriers of the Israel Defense Forces faction, the African Resistance & Free Syrian Army's Technicals, the British Army & Dutch factions' Land Rover jeeps, the British Challenger 2 tank (despite the real-life Challenger never being equipped with this weapon), the Dutch faction's Boxer APC, the USMC's AAV7A1 Armored Personnel Carrier, and the U.S. Army faction's M1126 Stryker Armored Personnel Carrier. The Stryker, Namer, AAV7A1, and some Humvees are the only vehicles in the game that do not have the M2HB manually-operated by the player, instead using the vehicle's remote weapon station to operate the M2HB from within the safety of the vehicle. The British, Canadian, IDF, German, and both U.S. factions can set up machine gun nests furnished with a tripod-mounted M2HB. It should be noted that unlike ''BF2'' where most fixed and vehicle-mounted automatic weapons have infinite ammo supplies, ''Project Reality'' gives them a limited ammo supply, though automatic weapons are still subject to overheating and becoming temporarily inoperable if the player fires in prolonged bursts. It should also be noted that all the machine gun nests in the game will have a heavy machine gun sitting on the M2HB's M3 tripod, regardless of whether that particular gun is compatible or not. | |||

Squad is a tactical first-person shooter video game. It is set to be self-published through Steam and is a spiritual successor to the multi-award winning Project Reality modification for Battlefield 2. The goal of Squad is to create a "tactical first person shooter built around teamwork and cooperation". The development was announced in October 2014 and it is currently in a pre-alpha state.
The following weapons appear in the video game Squad:
Pistols
Beretta M9A1
The Beretta M9A1 is revealed as the main sidearm of the U.S. Army Faction in the March 2015 Update.
Makarov PM
The Makarov PM is the standard the sidearm for the insurgents.
Walther P99
Some U.S. Army soldiers are seen with a Walther P99 holstered. Oddly, the frame uses the Walther P99 but it appears with a slide, hammer, safety decocker, muzzle, and a rear sight similar to the Beretta 92FS. The weapon is non-usable.
Assault rifles
AK-74
The AK-74 is the first weapon to be showcased in the Pre-alpha Gameplay, along with the M4. AK-74 will be set as the standard primary weapon for the insurgents.
M4/M4A1 Carbine
The M4 carbine is also revealed, along with the AK-74, in the Pre-alpha Gameplay. It is said to be a M4 Carbine but it's shown to have the characteristics of a M4A1 Carbine (which is a full automatic fire). The M4/M4A1 also features many different attachments, such as; Trijicon Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG), Iron Sights, CompM4 Aimpoint Red Dot sight, Foregrip, Carry Handle, and the M203 Grenade Launcher. The M4 / M4A1 Carbine will be set as the standard primary weapon for the U.S. Army.
Sniper Rifles
SVD Dragunov
The SVD Dragunov is revealed to be a work in progress in the February 2015 update.
Machine Guns
M249
The M249 is revealed in the January 2015 update. It is seen being fitted with an ACOG scope (looks to be a ACOG TA31H with TA91 Anti-Reflection Device), a 200-round ammo drum, and a RIS Handguard.
RPK Light Machine Gun
The RPK light machine gun is first revealed in the November 2014 animation testing. It is fitted with a 75-round drum magazine and features a stamped receiver (as opposed to the milled receiver).
Hand Grenades
F-1 Hand Grenade
The F-1 hand grenade is revealed in the April 2015 update as the Insurgent's standard hand grenade.
M18 Smoke Grenade
The M18 smoke grenade will be featured as the non-lethal smoke grenade for the U.S. Army and currently as a placeholder smoke grenade for the Insurgents as the RDG-2 Smoke Grenade is still in development.
M67 Hand Grenade
The M67 hand grenade is revealed as the standard HE-Frag (High-Explosive Fragmentation) grenade for the U.S. Army. It is revealed in the February 2015 update.
RKG-3 Anti-Tank Grenade
The RKG-3 Anti-Tank Grenade is revealed to be a work in progress in the April 2015 update.
RDG-2 Smoke Grenade
The RDG-2 smoke grenade is said to be in development stage and will be set as the insurgent's smoke grenade.
Grenade Launchers
GP-25 Grenade Launcher
The GP-25 grenade launcher is added in the April 2015 update. The GP-25 appears to be mounted on the AK-74.
M203 Grenade Launcher
The M203 grenade launcher is added in the April 2015 update. The M203 is seen as underbarrel grenade launcher for the M4/M4A1 Carbine.
Launchers
RPG-7
The RPG-7 was added in the February 2015 update and later in April 2015 update. Currently in Pre-Alpha, the RPG-7 uses the OG-7V HE-Frag warhead rocket. PG-7VM HEAT and TBG-7 warhead rockets are seen in game but still unusable.
Mounted Weaponry
Browning M2HB Heavy Machine Gun
The Browning M2HB heavy machine gun is mounted on most U.S. It should be noted that unlike BF2 where most fixed and vehicle-mounted automatic weapons have infinite ammo supplies, Project Reality gives them a limited ammo supply, though automatic weapons are still subject to overheating and becoming temporarily inoperable if the player fires in prolonged bursts. It should also be noted that all the machine gun nests in the game will have a heavy machine gun sitting on the M2HB's M3 tripod, regardless of whether that particular gun is compatible or not.
