Okay, WHAT?! I looked at EVERY example given in the article and not a single one had a picture of a Remington model 31 in it... NOT ONE. There were two that had the "MGC" Replican Model 31 which looks little like a Remington 31 having only a magazine cap and trigger group ROUGLY based on the R31. In Japanese fiction
It's a pity there isn't a page for Seibu Keisatsu (西部警察) here on imfdb... The Remington M31 was Keisuke Daimon's weapon of choice. The producers even made a special M31 which looks like a hybrid of it with a Mini 14 here: http://homepage2.nifty.com/mgcmc/photo/daimon111.jpg
I used to watch that show. The weapons were completely ridiculous. Scoped short-barreled shotguns that could function as sniper weapons and bolt-action rifles that fired semi-automatically.
In Part I, which would be Season 1 of the show, he used a pistol-grip version of the M31. In Seasons 2 and 3 it gained an RAS mount and a different pistol grip. For the last episode Daimon used an M31 with a Season 1 pistol grip and the RAS mount from the later seasons...
