Lillian Diana Gish (October 14, 1893 – February 27, 1993) was an American film actress, first in silent films and later in sound features. Much of her fame could be attributed to her roles in films directed by D.W. Griffith, notably The Birth of a Nation, Intolerance, and Way Down East as well as the 1955 thriller The Night of the Hunter.
