The Walking Dead is a television post-apocalyptic horror series that follows a group of survivors led by former Deputy Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as they struggle to stay alive after a pandemic has nearly wiped out the human race and has caused the deceased to be resurrected as flesh-eating "walkers". The series, which premiered on AMC in the US in 2010, was adapted for television by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) from the Image comic book series co-created by Robert Kirkman. A companion television series Fear the Walking Dead is scheduled for released in the summer of 2015.
