Unknown Machineguns

Kind of look like M240Bs to me. --Charon68 (talk) 11:44, 6 July 2014 (EDT)

Unknown Pistols

First I'm not so sure on the model, but very sure it's a Kahr. Second is a USP, and the third looks to be a Beretta 92 variant.--Crazycrankle (talk) 18:14, 6 July 2014 (EDT)

Exclusive 4 minute clip

http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/358903-exclusive-the-purge-anarchy-clip/

Here is a link to see a 4 minute clip of the movie. Looks really intense. I was hoping to get some screencaps, but unfortunately, when paused the play button shows up across the screen. Just to clarify, this is not leaked footage. This is official stuff. - User:1morey July 7, 2014 1:26 PM (EST)

Red Dot Sight on minigun

What would be the advantage of having a red-dot sight on a minigun? - User:1morey July 8, 2014 3:18 PM (EST)

Same advantage as having one on an M4 or M16, it makes for quicker target acquisition. Spartan198 (talk) 17:49, 8 July 2014 (EDT)

I saw something similar on a pic of an M2 Browning once. Looked like an oversize EOTech sight.--Charon68 (talk) 11:26, 9 July 2014 (EDT)
I believe it is a B.E. Meyers DCL series sight. I believe they are used on various crew served weapons such as M240s, M2HBs and Miniguns. --commando552 (talk) 20:15, 20 July 2014 (EDT)

The name Dwayne?

I've seen The Purge twice and just saw Anarchy today. Where did the name Dwayne come from? They never said his name in either movie and he was always credited as "The Stranger". So where did Dwayne come from?-Gunner5

I am not quite sure, early sources mentioning the character mention his name was Dwayne. I presume it as either trivia revealed by the producers, or leaked information. - User:1morey July 18th, 2014 7:41 PM (EST)

Grenade launcher on shotgun.

When Diego broke into Eva's apartment, he had a grenade launcher mounted on the pump on his shotgun. Not sure what kind. It looked like a GLX-160 or an FN EGLM.-Gunner5

Which brings up a couple points. 1, can either of those be mounted on a shotgun without extreme modification? And two, I figured grenades and grenade launchers (and even flamethrowers) would have been considered Class 5 weapons (meaning they would forbidden from use during the Purge)....interesting. I assume weapons such as RPGs, bombs, and chemical/biological agents are forbidden then. The director really ought to get a book published that is like a handbook that details the Purge (from its history, to its limitations, to general info it would definitely sell. - User:1morey July 20, 2014 7:46 PM (EST)

Haven't seen either of the purge films so can't answer the second point, as to the first though I think it would be possible in theory. I believe the Mk 13 EGLM attaches to a SCAR via a rail mount, so if you had a pump that was railed you might be able to do it (I doubt it would last long though if using actual full power rounds). The trigger section that bridges the mag well would probably end up in the wrong place, but I think it could be used without this part by instead just pushing a button at the rear of the launcher. Out of curiosity, did the shotgun look like this this one from Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengaence? --commando552 (talk) 20:03, 20 July 2014 (EDT)
Yes. It looked exactly like that one. Same gun maybe?-Gunner5

I.D.'ing and axe purger

So the movie is on Putlocker, which makes it easy for me to be able to do some general identification. For some weapons however, a proper identification will have to wait when the movie is on DVD. I do not think the Kahr K9 is seen in the film (at least, it is not when Leo is in his apartment), unless it is one of the guns he gives to the group. I'm still rather amateurish with identification, so a few of the guns in my most recent update may be incorrect (I'm mostly doing a check through IMFDB and Google images for comparison with the film, and then going by the closest approximation).

Little off-topic, but, during the 'Commencement' scene there is a purger walking down a sidewalk with an axe and "PIG" written on his chest and is wearing some sort of mask. It looks like a Dia de los Muertos mask or a Luchador mask (maybe even a gimp mask), but it's hard to tell. I just thought it looked cool. - User:1morey August 26, 2014 3:43 AM (EST)
