I think the above image was photoshopped. Aside from some of the crude textures, the receiver appears to be from a an older model Lee-Enfield. It's missing the charging bridge and the rear sight that you see in the in-game rifle (like a No. 4 or 5), and it appears to have a magazine cutoff, which isn't on the in-game image. --[[User:Funkychinaman|Funkychinaman]] ([[User talk:Funkychinaman|talk]]) 10:45, 26 February 2015 (EST) |
Revision as of 15:45, 26 February 2015
Gonna be picking this game up later this week
While most of the firearms look fictional a lot look like they might be based on some real life models, would there be much interest in me screen capping it for a page? - RedRobinAlpha (talk) 01:46, 23 February 2015 (GMT)
- Post a few examples, let's see how close. --Funkychinaman (talk) 20:53, 22 February 2015 (EST)
- Well, I can see an M14-or BAR-looking thing, a Luger and something with a Lewis pan magazine, here. Evil Tim (talk) 05:20, 23 February 2015 (EST)
- Going off what happened to the Turok and Resistance: Fall of Man pages, I don't want him to put in that much work for something that might a bit shaky elibility-wise. --Funkychinaman (talk) 07:45, 23 February 2015 (EST)
- Those are my thoughts exactly, frankenguns based on real weapons are still at best frankenguns, so I wasn't sure about the eligability. - RedRobinAlpha (talk) 15:35, 23 February 2015 (GMT)
- Here is something about the game weapons. As the video shows, even the most fantastic weapons use elements of real firearms, like SMLE as a base for lightning gun. Greg-Z (talk) 14:17, 23 February 2015 (EST)
- Is there another image? I don't see anything from an SMLE in that lightning gun. The machine gun thingy looks like it uses the pan magazine from a Lewis Gun, and that's about it. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:46, 23 February 2015 (EST)
- There is a video below the image. The direct link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wG8m7q9kMhQ&feature=player_embedded Greg-Z (talk) 14:54, 23 February 2015 (EST)
- Some of the weapons are real world guns with little to no external modification. Only the names are different. Like, there's fully auto Mauser C96 and a Borchardt C-93, which is depicted as a traditional semi-auto pistol. --PyramidHead (talk) 16:35, 23 February 2015 (EST)
- Yes, I saw the straight up Mauser C96 as well. Alright, if you think it's worth it, go ahead. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:42, 23 February 2015 (EST)
- Please crop the black space from the screencaps. And please complete the page. We have enough half-assed incomplete pages as is, we don't need new ones. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:46, 25 February 2015 (EST)
- I've cropped the images, and as for completing the page, I've added screenshots of weapons I can't identify to the bottom of the discussion page, if you can identify them feel free to add them to the page, other wise stop complaining that a page that is, at most, hours old is not complete - RedRobinAlpha (talk) 04:02, 26 February 2015 (GMT)
- Thank you. And I was just bothered that you slapped an incomplete from the get go rather than a WIP. I hate it when users do that. --Funkychinaman (talk) 07:26, 26 February 2015 (EST)

there is something to work with here
some of the weapons are based on real world firearms however they are based on weapons made around 1900 up to 20 years before in the case of the handguns and 40 to 50 years ahead in the case of the rifles and sub machine guns --Seekerdude (talk) 10:14, 23 February 2015 (EST)
found this wiki has good images of the weapons in question

Guns
The Falchion looks more like an SKS. And the proper procedure is to list the name of the actual weapon, and include the made up name in the description. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:18, 25 February 2015 (EST)
Weapons I can't identify
These are a bunch of weapons that I managed to catch screen grabs of but can't Identify so if anyone else can and could add them to the page that would be great
- This appears to be a .276 Pedersen rifle, which competed with what would eventually emerge as the M1 Garand. Wow, talk about digging deep. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:27, 25 February 2015 (EST)
- This appears to a Beretta Model 38. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:27, 25 February 2015 (EST)
The Duelist Revolver looks like either a S&W Model 3 or a cartridge firing LeMat. The Thermite gun kind of looks like the aircraft version of the Lewis Gun. PaperCake 19:25 25 February 2015 (EST)
