The following guns are used in the movie:

Colt Detective Special

Colt Detective Specials are seen many times throughout the movie. The main villain of the film, Roger Devereau (Patrick McGoohan), is seen with one in a holster, which is later taken by George Caldwell (Gene Wilder), and holds him at gunpoint with it, later using it during a shootout with Devereau's henchmen in the baggage car. Bob Sweet (Ned Beatty), who is the undercover FBI agent posing as a vitamin salesman on the train, gives Caldwell his Colt Detective Special, but drops it while climbing the outside of the baggage car. Chief Donaldson (Len Birman) uses one at the Junction shootout with Devereau and his men.

Smith & Wesson Model 10

In addition to the Colt Detective Special, the Smith & Wesson Model 10 is seen as well. One of Devereau's henchmen, Reese (Richard Kiel), uses one to kill Sweet and then attempts to use it to kill Caldwell, but is shot by the harpoon gun Caldwell had before he could use it. (A goof during this scene; the weapon sounded like it was silenced, but it wasn't.) Caldwell takes one from Sheriff Oliver Chauncey (Clifton James) and holds him and his deputy at gunpoint with it while he hijacks their patrol car. Grover Muldoon (Richard Pryor) later borrows it from Caldwell when they get back on the train, pulling it on Devereau after saying the "N"-word, and Caldwell later uses it during the shootout in the baggage car after running out of ammo for the Colt Detective Special. Some of the State Troopers during the junction shootout use Model 10s as well.

During the Junction shootout, many of the FBI Agents are armed with M16 rifles. Donaldson later commandeers the weapon and fires at Devereau with, wounding him in the process.
