The Marathon (Original title: Maratón) is a 1968 Czech black-and-white war drama directed by Ivo Novák. Against the backdrop of historical events Prague uprising in May 1945 develops a love story escaped prisoner Ruda Strecha (Jaromír Hanzlík) and rural maids Karla Zelinková (Jana Brejchová). Alongside the Red Army rushes to help Prague also the Czechoslovak military unit, whose member is Ruda's brother Jarda Strecha (Vladimír Mensík).

German soldiers and rebels, including the main characters, are seen with MP40 submachine guns.

Czechoslovak and Soviet soldiers carry PPSh-41 submachine guns.
Rifles
Karabiner 98k
Czech insurgents and German soldiers use mainly Karabiner 98k rifles. Also Ruda Strecha (Jaromír Hanzlík) seized this rifle as a trophy.
Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine
Some Czechoslovak soldiers are equipped with Mosin Nagant M44 carbines.
12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun
Ruda Strecha (Jaromír Hanzlík) found hidden in a closet the 12 Gauge Double Barreled shotgun.

ZB26 Machine Gun
The German army add arsenal about the ZB26 Machine Guns. Those weapons capture also Czech insurgents.
Goryunov SG-43 Machine Gun
Czechoslovak troop is also armed with Goryunov SG-43 machine guns.
