This Custom Assault Pistol is an unusual customized submachine gun-style weapon first used in the 1994 film Timecop.  There has been much speculation about this weapon, which has not yet been definitely been identified.  The speculation is that these weapons were custom made because similar weapons such as the MP5K were unable to be imported into the U.S. as a result of the Assault Weapon Ban of 1994. Some have opined that these custom built firearms were  constructed from submachine guns with a front-mounted magazine such as the Kimel AP-9 or the Feather AT-9. Timecop was filmed in British Columbia, Canada, and thus these custom firearms subsequently appear in film and television series produced in the same region during the 1990s, including the film Rumble in the Bronx and series such as The X-Files, Smallville and Viper. These weapons are of an unknown variant, but have a SMG-style magaizine and a top charging handle.
