Used as a service sidearm by Jean-Paul Belmondo. The french National Police in that era used both the MR-73 and the less expensive Manurhin Special Police F-1 (a french version of the Ruger Service Six, manufactured under license). Nowadays, both the National Police and the Gendarmes use the Sig-Sauer SP2022
