The Liberation of Prague (original: Osvobození Prahy) is a Czechoslovakian war film about Prague uprising directed by Otakar Vávra in 1978. The film has no central hero and as a continuation to the previous of Vávra´s movie titled Sokolovo. The film was made as propaganda for the 30th anniversary of the Red Army's liberation of the city. However, it was late to the cinema and Horst Preusker, who played the SS commander, died before the premiere.
