Story of the young officer-volunteer in the Sahara, who in 1911 leads a valiant defense against Sultan Omar. Starring Gérard Depardieu, Philippe Noiret, Catherine Deneuve, and Sophie Marceau.

Arabs and French soldiers are armed with Berthier Mle 1907-16 what didn't enter service five years later. So a Modèle 1892 Artillery Carbine or a colonial M1902 rifle would be more accurate.
