The Quest is a 1996 martial arts movie directed by Jean-Claude Van Damme (his directorial debut). He also appears as the main character, Christopher Dubois, a young American, who has to run away from New York, pursued by both mobsters and police. After long adventures Chris appears on a Siamese island where he is trained in martial arts. At last he became a participant of a tournament of best martial artists from all the world.
The following weapons were used in the film The Quest:
Handguns
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers with 4" barrels are seen in hands of Lord Edgar Dobbs (Roger Moore), Harri Smythe (Jack McGee) and some of Turkish smugglers during the boarding combat.
Colt New Service
During Chris Dubois' encounter with mobsters Riggi (Louis Mandylor) and one of his henchmen (Emilio Migliozzi) carry Colt revolvers, supposedly Colt New Service.
Unidentified revolvers
New York police officers carry revolvers when they pursue Chris Dubois. They are seen only in darkness.
Submachine Guns
M1921 Thompson
During Chris Dubois' encounter with Riggi's mobsters two of them are armed with M1921 Thompson SMGs.
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
One of New York police officers carries a shotgun in Trench Gun configuration. Its general shape allows to identify it as Ithaca 37.
Rifles
Mauser Rifle
Mauser rifles are used by both Dobbs' men and Turkish smugglers during the boarding combat. By the lenght and general shape they resemble Karabiner 98k rifles but they are equipped with Lange-Visier sights. Maybe fake sights are fitted to 98k rifles in order to make them to look like Gewehr 98s.
Mauser Gewehr 98
Gewehr 98 rifles are also seen in the scene of the battle and after it.
Henry 1860
Henry 1860 (or mocked up Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy") rifles are used by several of Dobbs' men during the boarding combat with Turkish smugglers.
SKS
An SKS semi auto carbine, heavily anachronistic for 1925, is seen in hands of one of Dobbs' men during the boarding combat with Turkish smugglers. After the battle SKS is seen among captured rifles.
Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III*
Chris Dubois finds several Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III* rifles hidden among the cargo on Turkish freighter.
Unidentified rifles
Several unidentified rifles are seen during the boarding combat.
Other Weapons
Model 17 Stielhandgranate
During the boarding combat one of the Turks throws a Model 17 Stielhandgranate hand grenade at Dobbs' men.
Trivia
Cannon
A naval cannon is mounted on Lord Dobbs' junk. Though it produces muzzle flame and smoke, it seems to be a mockup rather than a real gun.
