The following weapons were used in the television series Inspector George Gently:
Webley Mk IV
Although British plain-clothes detectives (as well as uniformed officers) are usually unarmed, circumstances sometimes dictate that Detective Chief Inspector George Gently (Martin Shaw) and Detective Sergeant John Bacchus (Lee Ingleby) sign out firearms. When that happens, they are issued Webley Mk IV revolvers.
Short Magazine Lee-Enfield
When needed, Police Constables are issued Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III rifles.
Beretta M951
Joe Webster (Philip Davis) is armed with a Beretta M951 in the pilot, "Gently Go Man" (S01E00).
Sten Mk II
The plot of "The Burning Man" (S01E01) involves the theft of 144 Sten Mk II submachine guns by the IRA.
Smith & Wesson Model 27
Doyle (John Kavanagh) is armed with a Smith & Wesson Model 27. There is a goof in the dialogue however, as his revolver is supposed to be chambered in .38 Webley.
Sterling SMG
Gate guards at an RAF base appear to be armed with Sterling SMGs.
Double Barreled Shotgun
Gently rushed off after a suspect with a game warden's Double Barreled Shotgun in "Bomber's Moon" (S01E02). Two shotguns are seen in "Gently with Class" (S05E02).
Pellet Gun
Bacchus handles a break action pellet gun in the Blackburn house in "Goodbye China" (S04E02).
Unknown handgun
Ruairi O'Connell (Finbar Lynch) is armed with an unknown handgun during a flashback. But since it's filmed in the dark, it's almost impossible to identify the handgun.
