Chicago P.D. (2014-)

Chicago P.D. is the 2014 television crime spinoff of the NBC series Chicago Fire. The series follows detectives who work out of the Special Intelligence Unit of the Chicago Police Department. Like Chicago Fire, the series was co-created by Dick Wolf, who was responsible for the series Law & Order and its spinoffs. The series also is set in the same universe as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, as evidenced by a Season 1 crossover episode with SVU. The series premiered in the US on NBC in January of 2014.

Glock 17

The Glock 17 is the sidearm carried by the majority of the detectives in the Special Intelligence Unit of the Chicago PD including Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), and Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas). The Glock is also carried by the majority of the patrol officers on the show, including Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) and Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati).

M4A1-type rifles are used by all the Detectives on raids, usually used by Detective Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas) and Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer). Some of these have barrels different from the typical M4.
