The film was directed by Patrick Hughes and Sylvester Stallone returns as the leader of his team of mercenaries, who this time is forced to confront the co-founder of The Expendables, an arms dealer named Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). In the third film, several more action film icons appear including Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, and Robert Davi.

The following weapons were used in the film The Expendables 3:

Custom Kimber Gold Combat II

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) uses a pair of Kimber Gold Combat II pistols as his sidearms in the film, the same Kimber Gold Combat II pistols that he wielded in the first film. In this film, the Kimbers' grips feature small "Expendable" emblems on both guns. The same symbol is also seen in Barney's toothpick knife.
