Foyle's War is a British detective TV series that takes place during the World War II. The main character is Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle (Michael Kitchen) who investigates various crimes that happens in the region of Hastings, Sussex.
Webley Revolvers are seen in hands of various characters, including one of the main characters, Detective Sergeant Paul Milner (Anthony Howell). They are used as weapons of murder in "The White Feather" (S1E2), "A Lesson in Murder" (S1E3), "Fifty Ships" (S2E1) and other series. Both Webley .38 Mk IV and Webley .455 Mk VI are used. Not allways it's possible to determine what model exactly is used.
Colt New Service
A Colt New Service is used by Simon Walker (Laurence Fox) in "War Games" (S2E3). Its shape allows to make a guess that it is a British-used revolver in .455 Webley.
Pistols
M1911-style
An M1911-style pistol is carried by a Secret Service agent John Bishop (Guy Henry) in "Fifty Ships" (S2E1). This pistol seems to have a shorter barrel than a standard M1911, like Colt Commander, but this can be a mere optical illusion.
M1911A1
An M1911A1 pistol is used by Fred Pierce (Bill Davey) in "Among the Few" (S2E2).
Submachine Guns
M1928 Thompson
M1928 Thompson SMGs with 50-round drum magazine are seen in hands of Home Guard soldiers in "Fifty Ships" (S2E1).
Many British Army and Home Guard soldiers carry Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III* rifles. These rifles are seen in most episodes.
M1917 Enfield
M1917 Enfield rifles are seen in hands of Home Guard soldiers in "Fifty Ships" (S2E1), "Among the Few" (S2E2), "War Games" (S2E3) and other episodes. It's a very correct weapon for Home Guard in 1940-41.
Machine Guns
Bren
Bren guns are seen in hands of British soldiers in several episodes.
Vickers Mk.I
A Vickers Mk.I is briefly seen in "Fifty Ships" (S2E1).
Hispano Mk II
Two 20-mm Hispano Mk II auto guns are mounted on Spitfire fighter plane, piloted by Andrew Foyle (Julian Ovenden), in "Eagle Day" (S1E4). Two different planes appear in this episode (one is Mk. Vb and another one is Mk. IX), and both are original Spitfires, not replicas. Spitfires with Hispano Mk II guns are also seen in "Among the Few" (S2E2).
Bofors
Bofors 40mm AA guns are seen in "Fifty Ships" (S2E1) and "Among the Few" (S2E2).
Naval Automatic Guns
Two small caliber automatic guns are mounted on a German U-boat in "Fifty Ships" (S2E1). They are supposed to stand for German 3.7-cm SK C/30U.
Hand Grenades
Mk 2 Hand Grenade
In "A Lesson in Murder" (S1E3) a Mk 2 hand grenade is used as a booby-trap (though a Mills Bomb would fit better for the place and time).
