Mob City is a 2013 crime series created by Frank Darabont and focuses on the conflict between the mob and the LAPD that started in the late 1940s. The series was based on the novel L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City by John Buntin and premiered in the US on the TNT network on December 4, 2013.

Smith & Wesson Model M&P revolvers appear to be carried by LAPD officers during a shootout in 1927. The revolvers are used with suppressors in "Red Light" (S1E03).
A 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun with sawed-off barrels was used by Sid Rothman (Robert Knepper) to blast ratting mobster in "A Guy Walks Into a Bar" (S1E01). Sid later holds a freshly sawed-off shotgun in "His Banana Majesty" (S1E04).
M1921AC Thompsons are seen throughout the series, notably in flashbacks to the 1920's.
