The following guns are used on the show Stargate: SG1:

Stargate SG-1 (1997-2007)
Main cast in seasons 9-10 & Movies

Pistols

Beretta M9

The most common sidearm seen in used by the SG teams (although in real life, the M9 is the military designation for the Beretta, the prop weapons used in the show are most likely the civilian 92FS).

((Refering to the pics above) We've always wondered how much ammo does the guys have? We rarely see any of them reloading at all, and we get this were they were all forced to draw pistols. The only few times we see all of them holding pistols.

In the episode 200, Mitchell imagined himself fighting zombies. If you forgot about this episode, yes zombies. When he was doing his last stand backing towards the activating gate, he took out an M9 with a stainless steal slide.

In season 8, episode 15, the guy who does Homer Simpson's voice (Dan Castellaneta) played a character who threatened O'neill with a fake M9, who dropped it when Jack got his own gun out.

Smith & Wesson 5906

Seen in the episode "Wormhole Extreme" by alien humans.

COP .357 Derringer

Used by a lowly security guard in the episode "Badguys", season 10. It was never fired in the episode.

Vektor CP1

In the episode "Company of Thieves, one of the Lucian soldiers pointed this gun at Carter a few times. It looks like a Vektor CP1 with a black slide. It was also seen in the hands of Netan and other Lucian Alliance soldiers, especially one that killed Colonel Emerson, the first commander of the Odyessy.

Unknown Revolver

In the episode "Icon", one of the characters on the alien world was seen using this revolver as his side arm. There weren't enough close up shots to see it clearer. It doesn't seem like a single action revolver.

Dressed up Taurus PT99 AKA Timecop gun

Seen in the episode "Icon", used by the main villian at the end. This prop was later seen in Stargate Atlantis as the standard sidearm of the Genii people. This was also used in the movie Timecop

Beretta M93R

Seen in used by US Secret Service agents to attempt to fend off a hologram of Anubis. Als used by the Trust agent Hoskins. It could just be the trick of the eye, but it looked like the scenes where this gun was fire was on full auto, but most likely the actors just pulling the triggers very fast in 3 round bursts, or just the special effects making it look like full auto. It was interesting to see a constant reload when the character Hoskins kept on unloading his gun and then just eject and reloaded, while walking casually away. It actually makes more sense since the guy was just emptying round after round at everything, mostly at doors so he could escape.

If you look closely, you can see that they have the slide-mounted safety/de-cocker switch, whereas the 93R has it mounted on the frame. That means they're actually Beretta 92Fs dressed up to resemble M93Rs (with fake forward grips and flash hiders) and probably converted to auto with drop-in units; identical guns have also appeared in Harsh Realm and I, Robot (which were both done by the same armorers who worked on this show).

Sig Sauer P228

From a glance this gun seen in Season 8, episode 8 in the hands of the character Alec Colson while he seriously thinks about killing himself before Sam stops him. This is Sig Sauer P228.

The barrel and slide look too long to be a P228. It really looks like a P226 to me. Plus, I know I've seen P226s in at least a couple of episodes of this show, so it would make sense if it was one of those. Beretta 92FS Inox

The Beretta 92FS Inox appears in the episode "Absolute Power", carried by Daniel Jackson's bodyguards at his estate.

Glock 17

The Glock 17 appears in several episodes, being used by various people such as rogue NID agents, Dr Tanner's associate in the episode "Point of No Return", Adrian Conrad's bodyguards, Harry Maybourne, and Major Carter.

Ruger P89

A stainless steel Ruger P89 is used by one of Dr. Tanner's associates in the episode "Point of No Return" in season 4.

SIG-Sauer P226

The SIG-Sauer P226 is used in the episode "Desperate Measures" by Major Carter and Harry Maybourne. It appears to be the standard-issue sidearm for NID agents later on in the series.

Walther P99

The Walther P99 is used by rogue NID agents in "Touchstone", Colonel Simmons in "Desperate Measures", and by Jack O'Neill in "Sight Unseen".

Submachine Guns

H&K MP5A3

The main weapon used by all SG teams for the first few seasons. Then when the main cast and some supporting and extras switched the P90s, the MP5 was only seen a few times. Also seen in use by the Free Jaffa Nation later in the series. MP5 also makes a small comeback when we see them again in the hands of a special assault unit raiding a Trust compound.

O'Neal with an MP5N.

(Refering to the pic above) We can assume this was before Michael Shanks (Guy playing Daniel Jackson) learned how to hold a pistol correctly, but it fits his character. Just concerned about McGuyver having a gun accidently pointed at him by a guy with the finger on the trigger. Seemed to be a popular theme if you really pay attention in the series

File:SG1MP5A3.jpg
Error creating thumbnail: File missing
File:SG1MP5A4.jpg

(Refering to the pic below) MP5s made a short prominent comeback as we see an entire team of young recruits armed with them, though storywise, they were really intars. Kinda showing the audience the posibility of a spin-off with these guys. We only see a couple of them in a few later episodes, older, and the girl in the back later becomes popular in a role in Battlestar Galactica, another great series filmed right next to Stargate.

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

Aside from a few scenes, the MP5 never becomes noticable for the rest of the series while it gets overshadowed by countless P90 closeups and bigger guns like M4s, G36s, and M60s.

FN P90 Personal Defense Weapon

This became the most common weapon after its introduction in Season 4, Episode 8 ("The First Ones"). In the episode that introduced it, O'neill suggested the weapon because of the ammo was more penetrating than the MP5. We can assume it was just a device in the script just to bring this weapon into the fold. This is the weapon that is identified when anyone thinks of of the Stargate series. The series probably picked this weapon for its futuristic look, something unique from the other weapons at the time and probably because the budget allowed for the expensive ammunition that comes with a P90, even blanks would cost a lot of money.

In a few episodes, in the later seasons, Teal'c has been seen dual wielding this SMG, probably because he was not trained in standard practices of Earth military. However, in Stargate Continuum, Colonel Cameron Mitchell was also seen dual wielding P90s. Also seen once in the hands of Bra'tac and the Free Jaffa. Introduced to the Free Jaffa in Season 5 episode "The Warrior". Any subsequent episode with the free Jaffa, we see these in their hands over staff weapons.

H&K MP7

Since then, the MP7 has not been seen in used by the SG teams and only a handful of extras are seen holding them. In the episode "200", Mitchell, in his own imagination, was seeing dual wielding MP7s with the gun's sights folded and with extended magazines fending off Zombies. The episode first showing this was probably the series trying to replace the iconic P90s. However it was well written into the script and they only used this weapon when a low profile was necessary.

Used by the head thug on a planet, it is the same prop if not a similiar construstion to the weapon we see Blade use in Blade 1 and maybe it is the verison in Blade 2. Seen in the episode "Off the Grid". The head thug used it in a couple scenes before taking SG1's MP-7.

M1 Thompson

Seen in used by Mitchell in the movie Continuum is an M1 Thompson noted by cheap rear sights and side mounted bolt, but Mitchell went back in time and used this gun in 1939, which makes it a major continuity error since the M1 and M1A1 weren't made until 1942 when the US entered WWII. Guess they didn't care, didn't know, or where just trying to impersonate a M1928A1, which looks similiar.

Dao-12 Striker

This weapon should not be mistaken for the Milkor MGL. The difference is the obvious difference in ammunition and the charging handle on the side of the weapon(which the MGL lacks). It is a shotgun presumably using fragmentation grenade shotgun rounds.

Rifles

M16A2

Seen used by Marines, and the security of Stargate Command.

These are all Colt Model 715s, which are equivalent to the Diemaco C7, not M16A2s. If you look closely, you can see they all have the A1-style rear sight (adjustable for windage but NOT elevation, unlike the A2-style rear sight).
I agree. That's what we get for filming a show in Canada.... :)
Al Vrkljan told me on the The Incredible Hulk (2008) page that Canadian armorers can't acquire Colt Canada rifles, either, because they only sell to military/LE. But those guns do look very C7-ish to me...

Never understood why the guy on the left always seem to hold onto his M16 slung behind him, as if to keep it from swinging around. Isn't that what slinging your rifle on your back is for? The point is so it doesn't swing around and bother you.

GAU-5/A and GAU-5A/A

The GAU-5/A and GAU-5A/A were the USAF contract versions of the XM177 and XM177E2 "CAR-15" short assault rifle. The USAF Security forces used them until recently, however, most of the non firing GAU-5A/As seen in the show were simply XM177E2 "Airsoft guns". The actual GAU-5A/A carbines look like the XM177E2 but don't have forward Assist buttons.

"Carter Special" Micro Carbine

This is a customized Armalite M15A4 Carbine with a short 7" barrel, aftermarket quadruple-rail SOPMOD accessory forend, and a modified thumb-hole stock taken from a Sterling AR-180 rifle. It is used with an ELCAN sight and a Beta C-Mag dual-lobed 100-round drum and can mount a vertical foregrip and a side-mounted flashlight on the accessory rail. It first appears in Season 7, Episode 9 ("Avenger 2.0"). It gets its name from Major Samantha Carter, the only character who carries it. We later also see it in Episode 18 of Season 7, Heroes Part 2

Interesting: Anyone notice that the solo shot of the gun has no brass deflector on the upper receiver and yet the screenshots of Tapping show that her firing gun HAS the brass deflector. Is that a non firing prop for the show? Or perhaps a fan's airsoft "homage"? GREAT SHOTS!

Yeah, the one in that illustration is a custom airsoft gun. I saw somebody post it on an airsoft forum I used to visit. Interestingly enough, I believe I remember reading about another SG1 fan who built an actual firing copy (as a registered semi-auto SBR) on an Olympic OA-93 or some similar gun like that.
Why would he need to convert an OA-93? The Carter Micro special has a buttstock and a buffer tube, so having the custom gun built on an OA-93 is completely unnecessary. All you need is a standard AR15 and register it as an SBR and put the 7" AR pistol barrel on it. The rest can be built on a standard A1 or A2 upper receiver. :)
Not sure exactly, but I'm pretty sure I remember them saying that was the gun they used. I wish I could find the forum topic where I saw it, but it was so many years ago now.
It would makes sense if the owner already had the OA-93 and converted it to a short rifle (thus already having it registered as an SBR). He may not have wanted to go through the paperwork of registering yet another SBR from a new gun. :)

AK Variants

First seen used by the Russian SG team in "Tomb", also by Honduran terrorists, seen in use by another race of humans first seen in the episode "Icon" and then again once by Mitchell in the Continuum movie.

Error creating thumbnail: File missing
One scene, this Russian SG woman was using what appeared to be an AK47 variant (with a .223 magazine - could be a Type 84, or if the receiver has an RPK reinforcing bar, it could be the Zastava M90 chambered in 5.56mm NATO), but in the next scene, it appeared to be an AK74.
The magazine appears to be Norinco Type 84-style, and there are lots of those in Hollywood's rental armories.
Could be but since SG1 is filmed in Canada, none of the California armorers work on the show and Canadian armorers can still get a lot of stuff that we Americans can't (despite their ridiculous gun restrictions for the 'common folk').
Yeah, possibly. I admit the fact that the M70B appears in the show suggests it could be an M90. However, I seem to recall seeing at least one episode of this show where the AK74 I saw was definitely a Type 84 (hooded front sight, smooth receiver cover, plus less-curved mag).

M203 Grenade Launcher Attachment

Seen attached to M4s and M16s. I think it was used only a handful of times. In prop wise, these were all most likely 37mm flare launchers meant to mimic the appearence of an M203, but for the sake of what was presented in story, they are 203s in the SG universe obviously.

They ARE the Cobray CM203 flare launchers. What tips them off is the absence of a second trigger, the shape of the trigger guard, the lack of a step up in the receiver, and the cocking lever on the SIDE of the receiver. Good call.
