Once again, great screencaps. The one of the "silenced" revolvers with flash coming out the gap between cylinder and barrel is most instructive.
I thought I would post a news photo of the real Chief Horrall inspecting his detectives. Note the lack of snub nosed revolvers. Yes, they are packing their 6 inch Colts and Smiths,usually crossdraw in Clark or Lewis belt holsters(see ''Dragnet'' for a look at the latter); I suspect it hard  for prop people to find vintage leather nowadays;

Great screen caps!

The Colt Detective Special is actually a sawn-off Police Positive Special. It has a long ejector rod, which DSs of that period didn't and has a square butt, which PPSs did. There is a shot of it and the S&W in Rothman's left hand on the table in a gallery on Mob City's website: http://www.tntdrama.com/series/mob-city/gallery/?id=644961 You'll have to scroll through the behind the scenes sections to find it. my tech skills are poorand I couldn't save it. I also not sure the muzzle shot of Teague aiming the .38 down at Nash isn't a S&W, but the gun he leaves at the scene is the same sawn PPS. Consdiering the lack of continuity with Teague's shoulder holster, which changes from a reharnessed Lewis to a Lawrence at the oilfield,I wouldn't be surprized if snub .38 switched from a Smith to a Colt. Teague's main .38 is a Smith & Wesson M&P, nickel plated with a 2 inch barrel,with a lanyard hole in the butt. It's been shown in stills;apparently there's a gunfight on a merry-go- round. Great start with this show.

Again,great screencaps. Teague's gun is not a Colt Dectective Special, but a pre-Model 10 Smith & Wesson snub with the pre war half moon front sight;the ramped front sight had not been introduced in 1947. It also seems to be a pre-war gun, as it doesn't have Magna stocks.The butt also has a lanyard hole,like the war-time Victory models.Sometime it changes into a blued round S&W snub(the same type Rothman has in his left hand during the Parmesan cheese hit. The Colt DSs used in the Vegas concrete gundown all seem to have short prewar style ejector rods making them of proper vintage. At the beginning of the merry-go-round gunfight, I am pretty sure the three hoods pulled 'silenced' revolvers, which changed into .45 automatics by the time they got to the carousel. There is also a scene with one of Dragna's men holding a Colt Official Police on Siegel's lawyer,Ned Staxx; I'd like to see these as screencaps,please. Screenshot comparison

The reason why I'm overwriting the 1080p images from Ominae. Here's a comparison between the two:

While the bottom shot was taken from a 1080p source, it appears to not have the sharpness or the richer colors of the top shot. I won't change the screenshots if they appear to be of higher quality. --Ben41 (talk) 03:06, 11 December 2013 (EST)
