Crimson Tide is a 1995 military thriller starring Denzel Washington as the executive officer of a US ballistic missile submarine who clashes with the commanding officer (Gene Hackman) over whether to launch their missiles on Russian targets. The film was directed by Tony Scott and co-stars Viggo Mortensen, James Gandolfini, Rocky Carroll and George Dzundza.

Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS (standing in for the military M9) is used by several members of the USS Alabama including LT Roy Zimmer (Matt Craven), LT Darik Westergard (Rocky Carroll) and Petty Officer First Class Danny Rivetti (Danny Nucci) .
Colt M1911A1
The Colt M1911A1 is primarily used by LT Bobby Dougherty (James Gandolfini) and then CAPT Frank Ramsey (Gene Hackman).
Colt Model 727
Numerous crewman aboard the USS Alabama can be seen using U.S. Navy-issue Colt Model 727 carbines.
M16A2 Rifle
US Marines at the Naval base as well as some crewman aboard the Alabama can be seen armed with M16A2 rifles.
Remington 870
Numerous sailors including Petty Officer First Class Danny Rivetti (Danny Nucci) as well as the Chief of the Boat (George Dzundza) use a Remington 870 aboard the Alabama.
AK-47
Some revolutionaries seen in news footage are armed with the Russian AK-47.
