: I was thinking that myself while touching-up the page.. it seems pretty fair-sized sitting near the Beretta though, but perhaps not quite as big as a Mk23. Real telling spot is the barrel and as you said, we don't see it. [[User:StanTheMan|StanTheMan]] ([[User talk:StanTheMan|talk]]) 15:06, 31 October 2013 (EDT)

::: Is that a stainless slide? I'm not aware Mk23s have been made in two-tone. BUT, the trigger guard has the curve on the front, not like a USP. The Mk23 does. The Compacts also have the recurve, but the trigger guard on this gun looks bigger and longer than that on a Compact. And even in the picture, the barrel/slide lower area (uh dust plate would be the term?) looks quite longer, too long for a compact. I think Mk23 is actually the best guess for the time being. What caliber is the Desert Eagle?

I'm pretty sure it's .44 magnum, but it could be .50 ae

Most likely .44. This movie was filmed in Canada and had a Canadian armorer. MoviePropMaster explained to us that Canadian armorers mostly use the .44 Magnum version of the Desert Eagle, whereas American armorers only use the .357 and .50 models. -MT2008
That info was told to my face by Mike Papac and Syd Stembridge, so I trust it is true, since I myself would not know what most of the other armorers would be using, but Mike is a pretty big name in the biz (and a really nice guy) MoviePropMaster2008 02:22, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Remington 700PSS

Who keeps on misidentifying the photo of my gun as a Remington 700P. That's Remington's NEW version of this gun, but the photograph is of my 700PSS, and it's marked like that on the receiver. Since most of the armorers I know of picked up their guns when this sniper rifle was first offered, chances are that they are all 700PSS rifles, not the new 700P. Realism Rant

Sorry to go off on a tangent here guys but this is the sort of flick where, for me at least, reality goes out the window firearms wise. Not that there are guns in the movie but rather what is used. The handguns and shotguns, to a large extent, ok but, seriously, where do these guys get their firepower from? A low to mid lever gangster outfitting out his crew with assault weapons the local SWAT operators would envy. I know it makes things cooler but it still irks me just a wee bit. --Charon68 07:18, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

I thought it was a bit weird for them to be using AUG's, MP5K's and G36's, but you get bored of seeing AK's all the time. --Ben41 07:47, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

The shooters were talking in military lingo, so maybe they had blackmarket connections BeardedHoplite 02:13, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Page Change

After watching the movie last night, I observed that Bobby's Mossberg briefly changes to the 870 used by the Mercer's earlier in the film. The magazine end cap and lack of safety on top of the receiver tipped me off. I moved the screens and modified the descriptions accordingly. GLOCK10mm (talk) 16:05, 14 August 2013 (EDT)

The "triple-action" Beretta

The so-called "triple-action Beretta" looks to be the same Beretta 93R with the folding grip and flash hider removed that Mark Wahlberg previously carried in The Big Hit. Both this movie and that one were filmed in Canada and had the same armorer - John "Frenchie" Berger - so it's possible he put the gun in the movie as an Easter Egg of sorts. As the page points out, the Desert Eagle from this movie is the same one that also appeared in The Big Hit. -MT2008 (talk) 14:51, 27 September 2013 (EDT)

Mark 23

If this is the only image of the Mark 23, how can we ID this as a Mark 23? The barrel is offscreen, as far as I know, everything else would be identical to a USP. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:43, 31 October 2013 (EDT)

Bobby lifts the Shooter's mattress to discover an arsenal of weapons including a Heckler & Koch Mark 23, seen pictured half off screen to the right.
