Despite the title, this film has an emphasis on the Lone Ranger's sidekick Tonto (portrayed by Johnny Depp). The film was directed by Gore Verbinski (director of the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films) and co-stars Armie Hammer as the title character.

Colt 1860 (Richards Transitional Conversion)
At one point, John Reid (Armie Hammer) draws what appears to be a Richards Transitional cartridge conversion of a Colt 1860 revolver and holds it on Tonto (Johnny Depp). The lack of a rear sight on the breech ring combined with the Colt 1860 barrel means this is likely a Richards Transitional model (also called the Richards Type II), although it could be an early model Richards-Mason conversion (when they still used the barrels from Colt 1860 percussion revolvers).
