The General's Daughter is the 1999 feature film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Nelson DeMille. The film stars John Travolta as an officer with the US Army's Criminal Investigation Division who is assigned to a case involving the murder of female US Army officer on an Army base and it turns out that the victim was the daughter of a highly respected US Army General. The film was directed by Simon West, and the cast includes Madeleine Stowe, Timothy Hutton, James Woods, and James Cromwell.
The following weapons were used in the film The General's Daughter:
Chief Warrant Officer Four Paul Brenner (John Travolta) uses a Beretta 92FS when working undercover as Sgt. Frank White. Other Army personnel also carry the Beretta (in lieu of the Army issue Beretta M9) including Colonel William Kent (Timothy Hutton).
Glock 17
Police Chief Yardley (Daniel von Bargen) and his son Deputy Wes Yardley (Chris Snyder) carry Glock 17 pistols in their duty holsters.
SIG-Sauer P228
While working officially for Army CID, CW3 Paul Brenner (John Travolta) and his partner CW2 Sara Sunhill (Madeleine Stowe) carry the SIG-Sauer P228 as their sidearm throughout the film.
Rifles & Carbines
M16A2 Rifle
The rifles seen in the hands of the US Army soldiers in the film are M16A2 rifles. Belling (Peter Weireter) is seen looking one over before buying it. Cadets on a training exercise also carry the rifle.
XM177E2 Carbine
A trooper in the search party is seen carrying a XM177E2.
M14 Rifle
At the funeral of Capt. Elisabeth Campbell (Leslie Stefanson), members of the US Army's Honor Guard, or "The Old Guard" use M14 rifles to render the 3-volley salute.
Submachine Gun
Mini Uzi
Belling (Peter Weireter) uses a suppressed Mini Uzi in an attempt on Brenner's life. While Weireter is an
experienced SWAT officer, there is a strong possibility that he closed his eyes to protect himself from the pyrotechnic charges.
Machine Guns
M60
One of the weapons cases in the armory contains M60s.
M60D
There are numerous M60Ds seen in the armory where Belling (Peter Weireter) is looking over the weapons he plans to purchase.
M60E3 Long
On the gun rack, under a standard M60, there is a long barreled M60E3.
Browning M2 Heavy Barrel
A Browning M2HB is seen mounted on a Humvee during a training exercise.
