Hoffa (1992)

Hoffa is a 1992 biographical film that chronicles the life of Teamsters Union leader Jimmy Hoffa. The film was written by David Mamet and directed by Danny DeVito (who also had a role in the film) and stars Jack Nicholson in the title role.

During the first 1935 flashback, Hoffa's friend Billy Flynn (Robert Prosky) holds a Colt New Service on Bobby Ciaro (Danny DeVito) when Bobby holds Hoffa at knifepoint.

Smith & Wesson Model 19 Snub

Bobby Ciaro (Danny DeVito) keeps a Smith & Wesson Model 19 Snub in a shoulder holster in 1975, giving it to Jimmy Hoffa (Jack Nicholson), who places it in his shoe. Later, when Bobby reaches for his Model 19, he realizes he had given it to Hoffa as he grabs his empty holster.

Double barreled shotgun

Inside the roadhouse, Bobby Ciaro (Danny DeVito) checks a hammerless shotgun, which Hoffa had referred to as a lupara, in anticipation of the meeting with the mobsters.

Remington Model 30

Most clearly seen in the deleted scenes, Bobby Ciaro (Danny DeVito) hands a Remington Model 30 to mobster Carol "Dally" D'Allesandro (Armand Assante) by dramatically pulling back the bolt behind him. D'Allesandro then fires at a beer bottle, missing. Jimmy Hoffa (Jack Nicholson) takes the rifle and fires the same shot, hitting the bottle. D'Allesandro, Hoffa, and Frank Fitzsimmons (J.T. Walsh) all carry these while out "hunting".

M1911A1

As Hoffa and D'Allesandro talk about the pension fund loans, Bobby Ciaro (Danny DeVito) spots a deer and pulls out his M1911A1, firing four shots into it and causing the other Teamsters to jump to the ground, not expecting to actually hear any gunshots on the hunting trip. While telling the story seven years later before his Senate committee hearing, Hoffa explains that Bobby then tried to skin the deer with a nail file since he didn't have a knife.

Bobby Ciaro (Danny DeVito) pulls a nickle plated Smith & Wesson Model 38 out of his shoulder holster, using it to intimidate Sol Stein (Cliff Gorman) when going to meet D'Allesandro. He later draws it when he thinks he hears gunshots (but it turns out to be a beer keg bursting).

Note: This must a nickel model 38 airweight Bodyguard; the stainless model 649 was not produced until the 1980's.

The mob hitman (Frank Whaley), disguised as a truck driver, draws a suppressed .32 ACP West German Walther PP from his waistband during the film's end to shoot and kill both Jimmy Hoffa and Bobby Ciaro.
