Last Resort: Difference between revisions
Last Resort was an American television series that focused on the crew of the US Navy nuclear ballistic submarine Colorado, who found themselves marked for destruction by their government after refusing to carry out a suspect order to launch their missiles upon the country of Pakistan. The captain of the Colorado then decides to take over a small tropical island and its inhabitants and tells the world that the missiles will be launched if anyone on the outside attempts to make a move against them. The series was co-created by Shawn Ryan, who also was responsible for such series as The Shield and The Unit, and the cast included Andre Braugher, Scott Speedman, Robert Patrick, and Bruce Davison. The series aired in the United States on the ABC network for 13 episodes from 2012 to 2013.
The following weapons were used in the series Last Resort:
The Beretta 92FS is the sidearm of choice for the crew of the USS Colorado (SSBN-753) including LT Grace Shepard (Daisy Betts), standing in for the U.S. military-issue M9. Also used by US Marines acting in a VIP protection detail, standing in for the M9A1. Christine Kendral gets a 92FS from a bedroom drawer after hearing noises from the house in "Skeleton Crew". (S1E05) Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Conrad Buell (Ernie Hudson) uses one after he finds out that the coup attempt against the president had failed in "The Pointy End of the Spear" (S1E12).
In "Blue on Blue" (S1E02), one of the Spetsnaz commandos posing as a Delta Force commando is seen with an M1911-type handgun holstered. What appeared to be a M1911A1 was used by a rogue Secret Service officer in "Damn The Torpedoes" (S1E11). Senior Chief Petty Officer Hal Anders (Michael Mosley) uses one when he starts the mutiny, first seen in "The Pointy End of the Spear" (S1E12).
After the opening scenes of the Pilot episode, it appears that the SEALs, including Petty Officer James King (Daniel Lissing) begin using newer SIG-Sauer P226 E2s as their sidearms. King's P226 E2 is seen more clearly in "Another Fine Naval Day" (S1E06) when he hands it off to Sam Kendal (Scott Speedman).
Rogue Pakistani Navy Special Services Group Navy commandoes uses Makarov PMs in "Cinderella Liberty" (S1E09). Although the real SSGN doesn't use this, it is not impossible for them to use this since a majority of the Pakistani military is wiped out in the nuclear attack on Pakistan. This means that they're forced to use whatever they can acquire.
Serrat's henchman are armed with AKM assault rifles as their main weapon, first seen in "Eight Bells" (S1E03). Rogue Pakistani Navy SSGN commandoes are armed with AKMs when they seize the boat containing family members of the USS Colorado's crew in "Cinderella Liberty" (S1E09).
A Serrat henchman is armed with an AKS-47 in "Nuke It Out" (S1E07). Rogue US Navy sailors are seen preparing the AKS-47 in "The Pointy End of the Spear" (S1E12) and in "Controlled Flight into Terrain" (S1E13) with Grace taking one of them from a disarmed rogue sailor at the latter episode.
The M4A1 carbine is seen carried by sailors of the Colorado and as well as the SEALs. It is also used by US Marines as their main weapon. Julian Serrat (Sahr Ngaujah) uses one to shoot a CIA agent in "Another Fine Naval Day" (S1E06).
Russian Spetsnaz commandos posing as Delta Force operators are armed with Colt Model 733s with suppressors, which would have been a dead giveaway that they are not U.S. Army soldiers in "Blue on Blue" (S1E02).
In "Blue Water" (S1E10), People's Liberation Army Ground Force soldiers were armed with L85A1 service rifles, most likely as stand ins for the Norinco QBZ-95 rifles.
An M14 or M1A rifle (the right side of the receiver is never shown) with a suppressor and Troy M14 MCS stock was used by James to kill a Russian Spetsnaz commando that was attempting to kill Lt. Shepard in "Blue on Blue" (S1E02). He intended to use the rifle again in the series finale "Controlled Flight Into Terrain" (S1E13) to kill Chinese envoy Zheng Li (Chin Han), but is stopped by Tani (Dichen Lachman) before he has a chance to.
