He uses it in an attempt to kill Christian ([[Ewan McGregor]]) during the performance of "Spectacular-Spectacular!", but is foiled by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec ([[John Leguizamo]]) and his Bohemian musical troupe. The Duke later takes the gun to kill Christian himself, but is knocked out by a punch from Harold Zidler ([[Jim Broadbent]]), which sends the gun flying through a window.
