The Day of the Triffids (2009) is the third of three filmed versions of John Wyndham’s classic science fiction novel (adaptations were also released in 1962 and in 1981). This version is more or less faithful to Wyndham’s story, but has the best cast, best performances, and best special effects of the three. For today's audiences, this is the version to watch. The BBC mini-series was directed by Nick Copus and starred Dougray Scott, Joely Richardson, Eddie Izzard, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jason Priestley. A solar storm blinds humanity, which falls prey to carnivorous, walking plants.
The following firearms were used in the mini-series The Day of the Triffids (2009):
Triffid farm security forces carry the Heckler & Koch M320 grenade launcher in the stand alone configuration. A chopped version is also seen mounted on a Heckler & Koch G36C.
