The following are the weapons seen and used in Generation Kill is an HBO miniseries about Marines in Iraq.
Colt M4A1
M4A1 Carbine is used by many Recon Marines in the series, including Corporal Josh Ray Person (James Ransone) and Brad 'Iceman' Colbert (Alexander Skarsgard). Some are outfitted with the M203 Grenade Launcher. The M4s seen in the series all have full quad rails. Some had attachments like laser, PEQs and and optics. Most are stock with iron sights. They also seem to have some type of aftermarket pistol grips.
M16A2
The M16A2 makes it's appearance in the hands of numerous characters to include Lieutenant Nathaniel Fick (who has an M203 Grenade Launcher attached). The M16A2 is currently being phased out by the newer M16A4. During the Invasion of Iraq the M16A4 had started to replace the M16A2 in Army and Marine units, therefore not all units received the M16A4.
M249 SAW
American Marines, most notably Lance Corporal Trombley (Billy Lush), carry the paratrooper variant of the M249 SAW throughout the series. The M249 is also seen mounted on Marine UH-1 helicopters.
Browning M2HB
Seen mounted on the Humvees
M203
The M203 grenade launcher is usually carried by the Marine team leaders and officers, including Sergeant Brad Colbert and Lieutenant Nathaniel Fick. In episodes 5 and 6, the M203s are used to launch blue smoke grenades in an attempt to prevent accidental shootings at roadblocks.
Mk. 19 AGL
The Mk.19 Automatic Grenade Launcher is mounted on Sergeant Colbert's Humvee and is often used to demolish enemy strongpoints.
M9
A few Marines were seen with these holstered.
M18 Claymore
M18 Claymores are mounted on the barricades as part of the roadblock at Al-Hayy in Episode 4.
M136 AT4
M136 AT4 anti-tank weapons are mounted on the Humvees and seen at the Marine base in Baghdad, but are never used.
Remington 870
Seen in the hands of an Iraqi translator.
M40A1 Sniper Rifle
The M40A1 sniper rifle is used by Scout Sniper Sgt. Larry Shawn "Pappy" Patrick (Josh Barrett) to eliminate an enemy RPG team in episode 2.
AK variants
Seen in used by Iraqi soldiers, civilians and even in the hands of American Marines in particular one platoon commander, Captain Dave 'Captain America' McGraw (Eric Nenniger).
RPG-7
RPG-7 launchers are used by some Iraqi Feyadeen during their attempts to attack the invading American forces.
PKM
PKM machine guns are used by the Iraqi forces throughout the miniseries, sometimes mounted on tripods.
Recoiless Rifles
After the recon Marines successfully capture a strategic bridge in Episode 5, the surrendering Syrian irregulars can be seen abandoning recoiless rifles and heavy mortars.
