City on Fire is a 1987 Hong Kong crime drama directed by Ringo Lam and stars Chow Yun-Fat and Danny Lee as members of a high end robbery crew who suspect that one of them might be an undercover cop. Some particular scenes and themes in this film bear a striking resemblance to those seen in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs released four years later. Chow Yun-Fat and Danny Lee would later co-star in John Woo's The Killer.

Colt Detective Special

When Ko Chow promises 3 more "Smith & Wessons" to Fu during the first gun deal, he returns with two Colt Detective Specials and one more Smith & Wesson Model 10. Despite the revolvers being Colts, Ko Chow still refers to them as "same as the first one".

A Smith & Wesson Model 10 HB with a 3" barrel is the first Smith & Wesson being sold by Ko Chow durning the first gun deal. Later, Fu (Danny Lee) takes it and pulls it on Ko Chow in the cemetery. Another one, along with two Colt Detective Specials are seen in the second gun deal.

During the jewelry heist, a snub Smith & Wesson Model 10 is seen being used by one of the robbers to gun down a employee when the alarm sounds. This is presumably one of the "Smith & Wesson" Colt Detective Specials sold by Ko Chow in the second gun deal, but it now becomes a real Smith & Wesson.
