Amerika is a television miniseries that aired on ABC in 1987. The miniseries dramatizes life in the United States of America ten years after a bloodless Soviet takeover. Directed by Donald Wrye, the miniseries stars Kris Kristofferson, as a maverick American political leader who plays a role in the resistance, Robert Urich as a American administrator who collaborates with the Soviets, and Sam Neill as a Soviet KGB officer who supervises the region of America the story takes place in. Unlike the similarly themed Red Dawn, the weapons and armor seen used by Soviet and United Nations Special Service Unit (UNSSU) forces in the miniseries were mostly American-made. The miniseries has since been released on VHS, but there has not been a proper DVD release in the US.
The following weapons appear in the television miniseries Amerika:
Rifles
AKM
Russian and UNSSU troops are seen armed with AKM rifles throughout the miniseries.
Machine Guns
