This is a blow-back semiauto pistol, chambered in 9 mm Bergmann-Bayard (a.k.a: "9 mm Largo"),made in Spain, by the firm of Astra (Unceta)

Astra 600
The Astra 600 is a 9mm parabellum version of the Astra 400. It can be distinguished by its slightly smaller size, and by the distinctive heel mounted magazine release of the Astra 400 being replaced with a lanyard ring.
