The handgun that Linda Hamilton is using in the Dyson scene in "Judgement Day" is one of a unique pair custom-made Detonics. It is a Score Master frame with a two piece upper section: A Combat Master slide (hence the forward position of the rear sight), and a custom made forward section which was affixed to the frame. It is one of two such guns built at Detonics for the 1984 Tom Selleck movie "Runaway". Selleck and the female lead, Cynthia Rhodes, each carried one in the movie while in police uniform. The large opening below the barrel was originally designed to include a stubby second barrel which was to be used for a single .410 shotgun shell as a "last ditch" blast. Due the the speed with which the weapons were built for the Runaway production then being shot in Vancouver B.C. the .410 concept was not finished in time. | |||

The "Runaway" large frame .45s were seen again in "Enemy Mine" (with Lou Gossett) where they were carried by the slave traders who supplied the mines with captive workers. One of these original two "Runaway" guns was used by Hamilton in the Dyson scene, and then it "disappeared" into the mists of time and space. It was not among the "Judgement Day" guns listed in the Stembridge Rental Auction Catalog. The present location of both the "Runaway" (Terminator/Hamilton) guns is unknown.
