The Muppet Movie is a 1979 musical comedy directed by James Frawley starring Charles Durning, Austin Pendleton, and the Muppets. It was the first feature film for the Muppets, whose television show had already aired for three seasons. The film features cameos by many celebrities, including Dom DeLuise, James Coburn, Telly Savalas, Steve Martin, and Orson Welles. It was added to the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2009.
