24: Redemption is the 2008 television movie that set between Season 6 and Season 7 of the series 24. The television film finds Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) living off the grid in Africa while helping an old friend with his school for young war orphans. Jack then finds himself having to escape through the jungle with the young men to keep them from being drafted into a rebel army. The majority of the movie was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa.
The following weapons were used in the television movie 24: Redemption:
Glock 19
When Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) learns from his friend Carl Benton (Robert Carlyle) that General Juma's (Tony Todd's) rebel forces are approaching the school, Benton tells him to take out his personal arsenal, which includes a Glock 19, a CZ-52, and 4 sticks of dynamite. Jack uses the Glock 19 during the shootout at the school until it empties, and then uses an AK. Carl carries another Glock 19 which he is seen using quite frequently, but he hands this gun to Jack just before he enters the city to take the boys to the American embassy.
CZ 52
A Czech CZ 52 is among the weapons in Carl's arsenal. Due to a continuity error, Jack picks it up and then in the next shot it becomes the Glock 19.
AK derivatives
Various types of AK-type assault rifles are seen being wielded by General Juma's Sangalan rebels throughout the movie. The most common types are basic AKM-type rifles, which may or may not be of Russian manufacture (in all likelihood not).
Some of the rebels have WASR-3 rifles...
...and at least one has a Norinco Type 56-1, which seems to have been fitted with an AKM-style handguard and ribbed receiver cover, much like the Type 56-1s from Lord of War (in all likelihood, it is one of the same guns used in Lord of War, since the armorers on 24: Redemption were probably the same ones who worked on the South African scenes of the other movie).
During the gunfight at the school, Jack Bauer grabs an underfolder AK rifle from a rebel he has killed after his Glock 19 empties. When he first grabs the weapon, it is clearly an AKS-47 with a milled receiver (possibly of Russian manufacture, but this is uncertain).
However, due to a continuity error, Jack's AK somehow transforms into a Norinco Type 84S folder after he ducks behind the tree while avoiding rebel gunfire.
During the finale, when Jack and the kids are trying to get to the embassy, a rebel child soldier who is apparently on drugs points a Yugoslav Zastava M70AB2 at Jack, which can be recognized by the folding grenade launcher sight in front of the gas tube. Jack encourages him to put the gun down, which he does and then flees.
Armscor BXP
A South African Armscor BXP submachine gun is carried by one of the rebels during the attack on the school.
Browning M1919A4
A Browning M1919A4 is seen mounted on a "technical" car when the Sangalan rebels raid the school.
RPG-7
A Sangalan rebel fires an RPG-7 at Jack during the shootout at the school.
Dual-mounted Galils
During the raid at the school, one of the rebels fires a double-barreled machine gun mounted on a technical at Jack. The gun is actually made from two assault rifles which appear to be IMI Galil variants, judging by the folding stocks and charging handles. The guns have had their hand guards, rear sights, and front sights removed, and large conical flash hiders have been fitted to the ends of the barrels. They might also be South Africa R4 copies (since this movie was filmed in South Africa, and since the BXP appears in the film, it wouldn't be surprising).
Lee Enfield No.4 Mk.I
Carl Benton (Robert Carlyle) keeps a Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I rifle inside his SUV, which is handed to Jack, who then hands it back to create a distraction when Carl steps on an anti-personnel mine and sacrifices himself to kill Colonel Dubaku.
SIG-Sauer P228
When Chris Whitley (Kris Lemche) goes back to his apartment, he finds one of Jonas Hodges's (Jon Voight's) men erasing the files from his computer which prove Hodges involvement in selling weapons to General Juma. The agent has a SIG-Sauer P228 pistol sitting nearby on the desk, which Chris eyes nervously (apparently, he's thinking of grabbing it, but never gets to do so).
FN MAG-58
An older-model FN MAG-58 can be seen in the background while Colonel Dubaku (Hakeem Kae-Kazim) is talking to one of his men about recruiting more child soldiers for General Juma's army.
FBP
At least one Sangalan child soldier can be seen holding a Portuguese FBP submachine gun which seems to have no trigger guard.
M1A1 Thompson
During the raid on the school, a rebel fires at Jack with an M1A1 Thompson before Jack takes him down with a burst of gunfire from his captured AK.
L1A1 SLR
Some of the Sangalan rebels are armed with L1A1 SLR rifles, the British version of the FN FAL.
Heckler & Koch G3A3 (South African configuration)
At least one Sangalan rebel can be seen carrying a Heckler & Koch G3A3 which, judging by the barely-visible ventilation holes in the handguard, is a South African-made copy.
M16A1 Rifle
Several M16A1 assault rifles, fitted with M16A2 handguards, are seen in the hands of both Sangalan rebels and Marine guards at the U.S. embassy. However, one of these rifles seen in clear view has a cheap, plastic look, and seems to be an inexpensive airsoft replica.
