Like in the oringinal series, Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson ([[Owen Wilson]]) carries a [[Colt Python]] revolver fitted with a six inch barrel and a nickel plated finish as his duty sidearm in the movie.

[[Colt Commander]] Light Weight Model 70 (The Colt Commander was made in 1976 but the story takes place in 1974) is used by Starsky ([[Ben Stiller]]) throughout the film.
