A Better Tomorrow III is the 1989 prequel to A Better Tomorrow. The film follows the experiences of Mark Gor (Chow Yun-Fat) during the time of the Vietnam War. Unlike the first two films, the third installment was not directed by John Woo, but by Tsui Hark (who produced the first two films). The film was also goes by the subtitle "Love & Death in Saigon".

M1911A1
The M1911A1 is used by nearly all of the main characters including Mark Gor (Chow Yun-Fat), Chow Ying Kit (Anita Mui), Cheung Chi Mun (Tony Leung Ka Fai), Ho Cheung Ching/Tanaka (Saburô Tokitô), and Pat (Kien Shih). Triads and ARVN soldiers also use the handgun.
Smith & Wesson Model 629 Snub
Chow Ying Kit (Anita Mui) is also seen using a Smith & Wesson Model 629 Snub.
Smith & Wesson Model 60
A Smith & Wesson Model 60 revolver is seen being pulled from an ankle holster.
M16A1
Like the M1911A1, the M16A1 is used by several characters including Mark Gor (Chow Yun-Fat), Chow Ying Kit (Anita Mui), Cheung Chi Mun (Tony Leung Ka Fai), as well as ARVN soldiers.
AK-47
The AK-47 is seen being used by Việt Cộng fighters.
Browning M1919
A Browning M1919 is seen being used by Cheung Chi Mun (Tony Leung Ka Fai) from a bunker.
FN MAG-58 (mocked up as an M60 machine gun)
Chi Mun is seen handling an FN MAG mocked up to resemble the M60 before taking up the Browning M1919. A similar mockup was used in Superman II.
M72 LAW
The M72 LAW is used by several ARVN soldiers.
