The Sicilian is a 1987 action and drama movie based on the eponymous novel by Mario Puzo. It was directed by Michael Cimino (Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, The Deer Hunter, Desperate Hours). The film tells about the life and death of "Sicilian Robin Hood" Salvatore Giuliano (Christopher Lambert), infamous outlaw and separatist of late 1940s. This is a second movie about Giuliano; the previous one was filmed in Italy in 1961.
The following weapons are seen in the movie The Sicilian:
During the attack on the train the Italian Army lieutenant (Danilo Mattei) is armed with a Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver with long barrel. Terranova (Derrick Branche) carries Model 10 during the Portella della Ginestra massacre.
Beretta M1934 pistol is seen in hands of various characters including the unnamed boy (Justin Clark) who became one of the first members of Giuliano gang.
One of Giuliano's men is seen with a strange weapon. It resembles two visually modified and fitted together Owen Submachine Guns. This "frankengun" is supposed to stand for WW1 era Italian twin barreled Villar-Perosa. Owen is the only SMG with top-mounted magazine so it can imitate Villar-Perosa which also had top-mounted magazine.
