Miracle at St. Anna is a 2008 movie by well-known director Spike Lee. In 1944, four black US soldiers from the segregated 92nd Infantry Division are cut off from their company during a failed attack on a German position in the Italian Campaign. The soldiers take refuge in a small Tuscan village, bringing along with them a traumatized young boy who, unknown to them, is the sole survivor of the Sant'Anna di Stazzema massacre, where hundreds of Italian civilians were killed by Waffen-SS panzergrenadiers as retribution for partisan attacks.

The two Military Policemen in Herbs Ice Cream Parlor carry the M1 Carbine. Note that they are the anachronistic post-war models, fitted with a bayonet lug and 30-round magazines.
